OUR FILMS
The number one thing we hear from people who didn't book a videographer, whether it be budget constraints or just because they didn't think it necessary, is how much they wish they had a video to look back on and remember their day.
That being said, my main piece of advice to any couple who is on the fence about videography, would be to make their wedding film a priority.
I believe some brides still have their parent's wedding film in mind when they think of having a wedding film — Wedding films have come a LONG way in the last 5-10 years, and I promise it's so much more than showing up and pressing the record button during your ceremony. One of my favorite things to film on wedding days is first looks and those memorable moments with your family and friends.
Trust me. I'm crying over your edits while I listen to your new husband tell you how beautiful you look in your dress or while your grandfather steals kisses from his bride of 60 years. Those moments just come across so differently on film. We get asked a lot if we would ever prioritize video over photos, and I will never say photography or videography is more important than the other because, honestly, they go hand in hand! Photography freezes these special moments, but a wedding film allows you to relive everything over and over!
As far as booking your ideal videographer and designing the perfect film, you have to find people that you like, and that you can trust. On top of that research, research, research! We have many inquiries that come in weekly from Bride's who have never seen any of our work, and as much as I appreciate that blind trust, I would recommend watching several different styles of films before you decide on any one filmmaker. Once you have decided, convey all of your ideas up-front and well in advance, and let us put together the creative process behind the film.
10/10 times when we have spent any time beforehand with the couple via phones calls or face-to-face meetings and personally get to know them, and what they want from their videos, it comes out perfect!
It's not about having your wedding film look just like your best friends. It's about having a video that captures and embodies who you are as a couple.
Listen to your photographer's recommendations! Ask if they have worked with them before and work well together. This will make your whole wedding experience so much better if your team of vendors works well together!
In the end, remember your wedding film is about you, and you deserve a film that tells that story.
